Our flexible mandate allows us to pursue opportunities across public and private markets and throughout the entire capital structure, including both equity and credit. Our approach ranges from investing in companies and people for the long term, to uncorrelated shorter-term strategies such as event-driven and special situations, where we navigate complexity to capture value independent of broader market trends.
Our expertise and industry relationships are deepest in the sectors shaping the future: Technology and Healthcare. However, with sufficient conviction about an opportunity, we will engage deeply in other sectors as well.
Our long-term capital base gives us freedom from the ticking clock of traditional fund lifecycles. Consequently, we can align our investments with the timeframe that is needed to create long-term value.

We are a tech-forward firm. Our incubation arm, A5 Labs, is a showcase for new, AI-enabled services that we are building to identify the best investment opportunities.
We are comfortable being contrarian when the data supports it. When we find the best ideas, we aren't afraid to be concentrated, putting significant weight behind our highest-conviction themes.
A5 Labs is our in-house technology studio, building proprietary, AI-enabled services that sharpen our investment edge. Our first product, Baseline, is the world's first qualitative stock screener, and it delivers exhaustive research across various structured parameters.

Alex is a serial entrepreneur who founded Hiya, Ekata (acquired by Mastercard in 2021) and Whitepages.com. Focusing on the intersection of large-scale data, security, and AI, he builds systems that enable trust and digital identity. Alex is a philanthropic supporter of initiatives for human and planetary health via Algard Family Fund. Alex holds a BA in Economics and MS in Engineering from Stanford University. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, cycling, being around the water, and poker.
Sebastien brings over two decades of investment experience, including more than 15 years at multi-strategy hedge fund Elliott in London, where he worked in the situational team overseeing a variety of investments across special situations, activism, credit, and was responsible for global coverage of the biopharma sector. Sebastien holds degrees from École Polytechnique and Columbia University.
Thibault joined A5 Capital's investment team in 2025 and also leads the firm's trading activities. He was previously an Investment Analyst at Sand Grove Capital Management, and began his career as an Analyst in Houlihan Lokey's Financial Restructuring Group. Thibault holds a Master's in Financial Analysis from London Business School and a BSc in Investment and Financial Risk Management from Bayes Business School. He is a keen skier and kitesurfer.
Sami has held leadership roles at global institutions and is currently a board member at Savvy Games Group, Isometry Capital, and StepStone Group Capital Company. He was previously the Vice Chairman of Goldman Sachs Saudi Arabia, the Head of Investments at Hassana Investment Company, and the Chief Operating Officer of Asset Management of NCB Capital (now SNB Capital). Mr. Al-Bashir holds a BE in Civil Engineering from Vanderbilt University, an MBA from Georgetown University, and is a CFA charter holder. Sami is an avid guitar player and is the part owner of Sixty Sixty Sounds in London.
Jim has global COO experience, having lived and worked in Asia, Australia, USA, and the UK. A qualified lawyer and CPA, Jim also provides us with his counsel across many of A5's transactions, as well as building a best-in-class operating infrastructure to support A5's investment capabilities. Being a COO is only one-half of Jim's personality - the other half being an aspiring session guitarist and olive oil producer.
Ryan brings over 10 years of trading operations experience at Eisler Capital, Morgan Stanley, and JDX Consulting, covering both buy and sell-side. He is BA (Hons) History graduate from University of Hertfordshire. Outside of work, Ryan is an avid golfer and serves as volunteer Chairman of a roller-skating club and inline hockey team.
Calvin is a qualified accountant, with over 10 years experience in the financial services sector, including AlTi Tiedemann Global and BDO. His focus has been on asset management, real estate and hedge funds. Outside of work, Calvin enjoys spending his time exploring the countryside and going for long walks with his wife.
Durdona is a Financial Accountant with over 8 years of experience in the financial services sector, providing support across finance operations, reporting, and day-to-day financial management. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and her three children, who keep her happily busy. She also has a passion for music and enjoys playing the piano in her spare time.
With 15+ years experience across property, education, technology, and family offices, Alexis joined A5 Capital at its inception and specializes in supporting senior leaders in fast-paced environments. Originally from Barbados, she resided in New York, Canada and Miami, where she obtained a BA in Arts & Science from Florida International University, before settling in the UK. Outside of work, she enjoys discovering new cities and, closer to home, exploring the English countryside in a 1966 Triumph Spitfire named Dolly.
Originally from Cape Town, Micaela provides executive support to the CIO and manages office operations at A5 Capital, drawing on over seven years of experience across real estate, private equity, and investment. She's a firm believer in the power of organisation and clear, effective communication to get things done. Away from the office, she loves a Broadway soundtrack — and is almost certainly distracted by dogs in the park.
